Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District provides fire protection services for the City of Waterford.

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District was formed on March 3, 1995 as a result of Project 94, an exploratory project with the goal of providing the most effective and efficient method of public fire service delivery by reorganizing or combining fire service agencies. SCFPD serves a territory of 195 square miles within the original boundaries of the Riverbank Fire Protection District, Empire Fire Protection District, Waterford-Hickman-LaGrange Fire Protection Districts and the Stanislaus County Fire. SCFPD serves a population of 50,000+ residents within its geographical boundaries. Within these boundaries SCFPD provides service to two cities (Riverbank & Waterford), as well as large unincorporated area within Stanislaus County which includes (Empire, La Grange, Hickman, Eastern Stanislaus County, Airport District, Gallo Winery and the Beard Industrial Tract).

The citizens within the SCFPD boundaries are currently served by:

  • 6 stations – 5 Paid and 1 Volunteer
  • 50 full-time paid employees
  • 5 intern firefighters positions
  • 3 full-time administrative personnel

The District has an annual operating budget of approximately $10.5 million, which is supported by annual property taxes and the fire assessment. The District participates in operational partnerships within emergency response as well as a joint training platform. These partnerships are made possible through a collaborative effort with the neighboring agencies of City of Modesto, City of Ceres, Salida Fire District and the City of Turlock.
