Mental Health First Aid Training

February 23, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The 8-hour course is designed to teach the general public how to provide help and
assistance to someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until appropriate
professional or other help, including peer and family support, can be engaged. Just as CPR
training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual following a heart
attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a
mental health crisis. This course is taught by certified MHFA-USA Instructors.
Participants Will Learn:
• A 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to assess the
situation, to select and implement appropriate interventions, and to help
the individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional care.
• The appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help resources available
to help someone with a mental health problem.
You must attend the entire training to receive Mental Health First Aid Certification.
